The Potter’s Treasure

The old potter had one cup

More precious,

More exquisite,

More magnificent

Than all the others he had designed.

Of the many splendid pieces in his porcelain gallery,

This one was his much treasured delight.

~

One afternoon while admiring

The many delicate cups on his shelves,

His heart warmed with love and a sense of delight—

Even while mixed with grief

And sadness.

~

For over time each of these cups

Had been chipped.

Each would need a uniquely shaped piece

If it was to ever be made whole.

~

Then his eyes fell upon his treasure,

His beautiful, dear cup.

Love filled his heart until it ached,

Knowing his true purpose

In coming to the gallery that day.

~

With tear filled eyes

He lifted his cherished piece,

Then crushed it!

And with each precious fragment

He made another perfectly whole.

~~~
He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed. … Though the LORD desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made…the LORD’s purpose will be accomplished through him. – Isaiah 53:5, 10b NET
Thank You Father, for Your never ending love for us. Thank You for giving Your Son so that we can be restored. Thank You Jesus for choosing to sacrifice Yourself…Your life for ours. What an awesome God You are!
